During the event, the participants summed up the 2021 outcomes and reflected on the challenges and the still existing issues related to the #identification, prevention and reduction of statelessness and the protection of the rights of stateless people in Armenia.
The participants were also presented with the results of a recently accomplished research on tackling statelessness issues conducted by #humanrights expert Sergey Ghazinyan, followed by Q&A and a discussion on the possible ways to eliminate the existing constraints.
At the end of the working group meeting, the participants watched and discussed the UNHCR video illustrating the plight of the people at risk of statelessness and had a refresher session on the global IBELONG campaign to end statelessness worldwide in 2024.
